Laos reports zero increase in confirmed COVID-19 cases

VIENTIANE (XINHUA) – No new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported in Laos yesterday, with its total number remained at nine, according to a Lao health official.

Lao Deputy Minister of Health Phouthone Meaungpak told media at a press conference yesterday that the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Laos remained at nine, including six cases in Lao capital Vientiane and three in Luang Prabang province.

None of them are in serious condition and the treatment is going well, according to a Lao official.

On Monday, there were 31 suspected cases including 23 cases in Lao capital Vientiane, two cases in Luang Prabang and Champasak province, one case in each province of Phongsaly, Salavan, Xayyaboury and Sekong. All of them were tested negative.

Laos detected the first two cases on March 24.
