In support of the Ministry of Health’s (MoH) efforts to combat the on-going COVID-19 outbreak in the Sultanate, Daikyo Industrial Gas Sdn Bhd donated several cylinders of liquid medical oxygen to the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah (PMMPMHAMB) Hospital yesterday as part of the company’s corporate social
Daikyo Industrial Gas Sdn Bhd Managing Director Hung Ah Hing presented the donation to PMMPMHAMB Hospital Acting Chief Executive Officer Abdul Mu’iz bin Haji Ibrahim. Daikyo Project Manager James Hung Chuan Chen, and Admin Sales Executive Alex Lim were also present.
Hung Ah Hing said the company’s objective is to provide a continuous supply of free medical oxygen until the end of COVID-19 in Brunei and to show the country that together the people of Brunei can recover from this and get things back to normal as soon as possible. “In doing so, we hope to lead as an example for businesses to assist in any way to collectively make Brunei stronger than before,” the managing director said.
“We are glad to help the government and the people of Brunei. Together we shall overcome this and grow stronger.”
The managing director added that the company will supply the medical oxygen daily, but are also on standby 24/7 if the hospital requires more.
Acting CEO of PMMPMHAMB Hospital said they are grateful to Daikyo Industrial Gas Sdn Bhd for supplying the hospital with unlimited medical oxygen, especially with the two current critical patients at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
“This oxygen gas is crucial so that we have a constant supply and that our patients are well equipped with ventilated oxygen,” said Abdul Mu’iz. “We are grateful for the support for Daikyo for the supply.”
Daikyo Industrial Gas Sdn Bhd started the supply of free medical oxygen on March 23 to the National Isolation Centre (NIC) in Tutong and supplied 156 cylinders to date, along with lending their services through thorough inspections of pressure in the oxygen cylinders daily to ensure it is in good condition.
