Food trucks, drive-thru in place of Ramadhan bazaar

The Ministry of Home Affairs following discussions with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and on the advice from the Ministry of Health, will allow the public to buy food to break their fasts during Ramadhan through a pre-order and drive-thru business concept.
This was announced by Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong during a press conference yesterday regarding the cancellation of the Ramadhan bazaar under the control of the District Offices, Municipal Departments and Department of Youth and Sports this year announced on April 6.

The minister said the drive-thru will be held at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium and will only be available to businesses with food trucks. The minister added that vendors interested in joining the drive-thru business can contact the Department of Youth and Sports of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports for information, while those businesses that wish to switch to drive-thru are advised to apply through the District Offices and Municipal Departments.

Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar said the evaluation will be based on a number of factors, including safety.

The implementation date for the drive-thru business at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium will commence on Friday, May 1.
