Donations continued to flow in as the nation battles the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Mosque Affairs Department of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) received donations from both the government and private sectors, in the form of thermometers as well as personal hygiene essentials for mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide.

The Ministry of Health donated 200 thermometers and 500 bottled hand sanitisers. An additional 50 thermometers were donated by an anonymous donor, while Syarikat Rabiah binti Matahir Sdn Bhd contributed 96 hand wash soap.

Syarikat Bokkitta Hijab Lumut contributed 44 bottles of LEO bleach, 28 bottles of Leo toilet cleaner and 12 bottled hand sanitisers; and Syarikat HSAF Securecomm Brunei donated 100 bottled hand sanitisers and 100 bottles of washing soap.

Others donated 108 hand wash soap as a form of Waqaf (personal endowment), 19 bottles of Clorox, 20 bottles of hand soap, 10 bottles of Dettol, 20 bottles of hand sanitisers, 18 bottles of Harpic and 22 towel sheets.

The Brunei Darussalam Amateur Radio Association (BDARA) played its part in helping frontliners battle the COVID-19 outbreak by contributing food, drinks and toiletries in a ceremony held at the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah (PMMPMHAMB) Hospital in Tutong yesterday.

BDARA President Major (Rtd) Haji Tamat bin Haji Lampoh, deputy president and members handed over the donation to PMMPMHAMB Hospital Administrative Officer Haji Mohd Daniel bin Haji Othman.

PAD Motors Sdn Bhd – the distributor of Proton vehicles in Brunei Darussalam – in collaboration with Tealive and BOWL delivered 100 Tealive pearl milk tea drinks and 80 curry chicken, black pepper and buttermilk chicken meals to the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital Sports Complex for frontliners.

PAD Motors Sdn Bhd representative Muhammad Nazree bin Haji Abu Bakar presented the donation to Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr Haji Muhd Nurhasanuddin bin Abdullah Kelali.

The donation was part of its corporate social responsibility in showing gratitude and support for healthcare workers.

Meanwhile, the Belait Lions Club also made contribution to the Old Folks Home in Seria, to ensure its residents are protected against the virus.

Belait Lions Club President Joseph Teo and members handed over a thermometer, disposable face masks and hand sanitisers.

“With the elderly being the most at risk for COVID-19, we have supplied them with the necessary protection,” Joseph said.

The club’s other initiatives include providing daily necessities to the Hospital Emergency Operation Centre (HEOC) in the Brunei-Muara District, and raising funds to make scrub suits for the PMMPMHAMB Hospital.
