As the country is still facing the COVID-19 outbreak, the government is continuously monitoring what is required by the Ministry of Health (MoH), including the new hospital building and if required, additional equipment.

This was said by Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah during a press conference in response to a question on how the government plans to allocate the remainder of the COVID-19 Relief Fund.

The minister, referring to the required additional equipment, said advice will be sought from the MoH.

The minister said that it is important to look at an audit report to ensure there is no misuse of the fund.

The government may not be able to disclose the price for each of the items publicly as it is confidential to the supplier.

The minister also reassured the public that the Ministry of Finance and Economy will make sure the funds are monitored and audited properly.
