Case 135, who was asked to self-isolate, claimed that he tested negative for COVID-19, according to information received.
Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar revealed this at a press conference yesterday.
“We have to trust him based on the information he gave us. What we need is honesty,” the minister said.
“Even though he said he was negative, we still had to run a swab test, and it turned out he was positive. We have informed our partners in Malaysia.”
The minister said those who know they are positive or negative should inform the authorities, so that everything can be planned smoothly.
Case 135 went to Malaysia on February 27 and to Makassar, Indonesia on March 10. He was quarantined until March 24 by the Indonesian authorities and on March 25, he left for Jakarta.
On April 2, he embarked to Kuala Lumpur and returned to Brunei Darussalam on April 3 from Kuala Lumpur via Miri. He developed a cough on March 22.
