Brunei can maintain over 95pc immunisation coverage

Brunei Darussalam will be able to maintain a high level of immunisation coverage of over 95 per cent with the cooperation of all parties which will lead to the achievement towards a high quality of life – one of the goals under the Brunei Vision 2035.

This was stated by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar during the press conference at Al-‘Afiah Hall yesterday.

In conjunction with the World Immunisation Week 2020 held from April 24-30, he said, “The Ministry of Health emphasises on the importance of immunisation in protecting individuals from preventable diseases through vaccines.”

Themed #VaccinesWork, the minister said, “The World Immunisation Week commemoration aims to raise awareness of immunisation role as one of the ways to protect people of all ages against vaccine-preventable diseases such as influenza, measles, mumps
and rubella.

“The Ministry of Health continues to provide immunisation services at health centres across the country. Parents and guardians are advised to make sure their children get the latest vaccination as scheduled,” the minister added.
