A 50 per cent discount will be given to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as well as private entrepreneurs engaged in the preparation and sale of traditional cakes using glutinous rice (beras pulut) for a month starting today.
This was revealed by Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah at a press conference yesterday in the government’s efforts to assist business continuity of MSMEs and private entrepreneurs, taking into account the cancellation of weddings and the Ramadhan bazaar.
The Treasury Department will be selling beras pulut at the State Store and Supply Complex for MSMEs and private entrepreneurs for BND3.80 per bag weighing 10kg compared to the current BND7.60 per bag.
The minister while urging not to abuse this said, the Ministry of Finance and Economy will take legal action against those found doing so.
