Virology laboratory to be completed in two weeks

In meeting the increasing needs of COVID-19 laboratory tests, an additional virology laboratory is under construction at Jalan Sumbiling in the capital, which is to be completed in two weeks.

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to the construction of the facility.

This was announced by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar during a press conference yesterday.He said the construction of the laboratory is to ensure the country’s capacity is adequate.

Tests for COVID-19 on average is expensive. However, the government is spending a large sum to ensure the disease control is smooth, particularly lab testing.
