Strategic foresight workshop concludes

The Centre for Strategic and Policy Studies (CSPS) recently concluded the first workshop of its Strategic Foresight and Strategic Planning Masterclass 2020. The five-day workshop focussed on the philosophical foundations of Strategic Foresight that support policy making and strategic planning to create wiser futures, a press release stated.

Senior officers from both the private and public sectors including Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD), Baiduri Bank, Narcotics Control Bureau, Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), Audit Department, Public Service Department, Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Development, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Finance and Economy, Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications, Radio Television Brunei (RTB), Employees Trust Fund (TAP) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs participated in the workshop.

The workshop allowed participants to practise using the Foresight tools. UNESCO Chair in Futures Studies Professor SohailInayatullah  facilitated a session on Causal Layered Analysis and participants attended a high-level forum on job futures at The Empire Brunei as a case study.

Certificates of participation were awarded to all participants who completed the first workshop. Certificates of merit were awarded to participants who exhibited excellent understanding of Strategic Foresight.
