The Sultanate of Oman showcases Arabic, Omani and Islamic culture and literature throughout the 10-day Brunei Book Fair 2020 at the Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex.

Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Brunei Darussalam Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashel bin Rashed bin Hashel Al-Maskari noted that the Oman booth has been part of the book fair for the last seven years, as well as a commitment for the embassy.

“This year we are showing a similar commitment in our involvement and participation. We would like to see young boys and girls visiting our booth and enhancing their knowledge on Arabic culture and Omani society,” he said.

“We have also seen many Bruneians willing to visit Oman to learn about our culture. We also have students from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) and Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB), who are studying Arabic Language in Oman.”

Organised by the Language and Literature Bureau (DBP) under the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), the Brunei Book Fair is held until March 8.

The public can visit the Oman booth to learn more about the country’s culture, history and literature.
