The Seri Mulia Sarjana School (SMSS) awarded their outstanding students who have excelled in their Primary School Assessment (PSR), United Kingdom International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and General Certificate of Education (GCE) ‘O’ Level last year during an award ceremony at the Al-Barakah Hall, Parkview Hotel in Jerudong.
Acting Director of Examinations Suriani binti Haji Noor Hashim was the guest of honour.
The event began with a Tausyeh performance followed by a welcoming remark by Principal (Secondary Section) of SMSS Gazala binti Abdullah.
“The SMSS students have proven their academic excellence in PSR, GCE ‘O’ Level and IGCSE examination for 2019. In PSR, our overall performances in several subjects are above 90 per cent.
“The school is proud to acknowledge that the number of students who passed last year in GCE ‘O’ Level and IGCSE Examinations have increased. Students who attained credits five and above increased by 8.13 per cent and those with credits four and above showed an increase by eight per cent,” she said.
The event saw 88 honorees: 56 primary students and 32 secondary students, receiving their certificates and trophies from the guest of honour.
Stage performances including the Chinese Dance Medley, Plum Blossom and Mongolian Dance performance and singing performance enlivened the event.
The ceremony aimed to provide motivation for students to work hard and achieve excellent academic results.
