Due to the movement control order (MCO) in Malaysia, Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said Sungai Tujuh, Tedungan, Pandaruan and Mengkalap customs, immigration and quarantine (CIQ) complexes on the Sarawak-Brunei border would operate between 6am-8pm.

The CIQs on the Sarawak-Kalimantan border at Tebedu, Biawak and Lubok Antu will be open from 9am to 3pm.

“This is in line with the opening hours as agreed by Brunei and Indonesia,” he said yesterday.

On Thursday, Brunei’s Immigration and National Registration Department (INRD) has announced that all control posts operation which previously operated from 6am-10pm is now shortened to 6am-8pm.

The move is to strengthen the government’s action to curb the spread of COVID-19 in Brunei Darussalam.

The control posts include Kuala Lurah Immigration Control Post, Ujong Jalan Control Post and Inspection Complex in Temburong District, Labu Immigration Control Post in Temburong District and Sungai Tujoh Immigration Control Post in Kuala Belait.
