The Brunei Malay Teachers Association (PGGMB) celebrated its 80 years of establishment with a Doa Selamat at the Multipurpose Hall of the PGGMB Headquarters yesterday.

President of PGGMB Haji Yussof bin Haji Mohamad was the guest of honour.

Over 90 members of PGGMB including members of the Executive and Administrative Committee (JKTT) attended.

Several former members of the JKTT from the 1980s were also present.

The event began with a mass Maghrib prayer followed by the recitation of Tahlil and Doa Kesyukuran led by the Director of the PGGMB Division Haji Rusli bin Haji Salleh, as well as a mass Isyak prayer ending with an appreciation donation handover to former members of the JKTT for 2016 to 2019.

PGGMB was established in 1937 and officially registered in 1939 as one of the oldest associations for Malay teachers in Brunei Darussalam and the ASEAN region, with a vision as an association dedicated to enhance harmony and placing high priority towards the welfare and prominence of its members and the Malay race.
