Qiamullail programme to steer youth away from social ills

The Mosque Affairs Department in cooperation with Kampong Sungai Liang Mosque committee members organised a ‘Qiamullail’ programme for mosque youth in the Belait District.

Head of Imarah at the Mosque Affiars Department Haji Asminan bin Haji Chuchu was the guest of honour.

Fifty youth are participating in the two-day programme, which looks to address social issues among the youth. The programme hopes to encourage youth to get acquainted with the mosque and familiarise them youth with the congregation.

The programme trains participants to assist in mosque affairs administration. Additionally, it allows youth to participate in mosque activities and discourage them from being influenced by social ills.

A religious talk titled ‘Youth of Hope Society’ and a youth activity titled ‘Who Are My Friends?’ were also held. Participants performed the obligatory dawn prayer in congregation and recited Surah Al-Waqiah.

Other programmes include a cleaning campaign at the mosque.
