Programme instils nationhood spirit among students

A total of 26 students of Year 9 and Year 10 and teachers of Nusa Laila Puteri School (NLPS) Jangsak Branch attended the Rakan Remaja Programme (RRP), at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the school, yesterday.

The briefing entitled ‘Our Monarch, Appreciate National Flag and National Anthem’ was delivered by Head of Nationhood Unit and Information Officer Mohd Hisyam bin Idris.

The event began with the singing of the national anthem Allah Peliharakan Sultan and patriotic song Bendera Negara. It continued with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat.

It followed with a welcoming remark by a representative of the school’s Principal Rosalinda binti Abdullah.

A video presentation on Kibarkan Bendera Negara dengan Megah was shown. A traditional dancing performance, Overtue, and a singing performance by champion of Bintang Penerangan, Mohammad Nor Amirudin bin Haji Brahim enlivened the event. A comedy performance and nationhood quizzes were conducted by Hajah Kasumawati binti Haji Buntar and Haji Mohd Firdaus bin Haji Salleh.

The programme aimed to expose students with the current developments and to instil in them patriotism and social responsibility.

The RRP programme also aimed to provide civic awareness among adolescents towards the formation of positive minds and morals and at the same time to reach out to youth in schools through entertainment.

The programme was organised by the Information Department through the Nationhood Unit under the Nationhood and Community Division.
