As a first-time competitor in the Brunei Super League, the 25-member team comprises players from Kampong Panchor Murai mixed with players from other nearby villages.

Mohd Jaafar said the team aim to challenge for the Super League title.

“I took over the post as the team’s manager in 2015. Panchor Murai competed in the District League 2015, they got promoted to the DST Premier League last year, and the club has been given the National Team License for AFC (Asian Football Confederation).”

Meanwhile, head coach Md Aqim bin Haji Matsah said the team conduct fitness and tactical training two to three times per week.

“What I usually do in deciding for the first team is not just the capabilities or performance of the player but also his determination for himself and the club,” Md Aqim said.

As for the performances, he noted that there is still room for improvement. As the head coach, Md Aqim and his assistants will observe each game to see the tactical side and weak points of their opponents, which they will apply on the training base.
