The Maritime and Port Authority of Brunei Darussalam (MPABD) called on mariners to use pre-determined shipping routes to cross the Temburong Bridge to avoid complications.
In the notice issued to mariners, the MPABD stated that the shipping routes (Brunei Channel – Tower T1 and Structure A1 and Eastern Channel – Tower T2 and T3) have been established with Aids to Navigation installed at the bridge deck.
Mariners are also advised to exercise caution while sailing through these routes as strong currents have been observed in these areas recently.
They are also warned against anchoring and fishing.
Failure to abide by the rules may lead to a fine of BND10,000 or a two-year jail term or both.
