Kolej International Graduate Studies (KIGS) launched its Open Day 2020 and Vibe Identity Exhibition yesterday, with a range of options to meet student interest in higher education.

KIGS offers 17 programmes in areas of Business Studies, Information Technology, Multimedia and Broadcasting and Arts and Humanities with two certificate-level programmes, four diploma-level programmes and three foundation programmes, while the remaining are at degree-level.

Three new programmes are hoped to be on offer in October, pending approval by the Brunei Accreditation Body: Mobile Computing, a Diploma programme in Information Technology and a Diploma programme in Business Studies.

The college is also in the process of submitting three programmes at Skill Certificate 2 level in Creative Design and Multimedia, Information Technology and Business Studies to the Brunei Darussalam National Accreditation Council for approval, whereby these programmes will enable students to apply for the current Skill Certificate 3 in Arts and Design or Skill Certificate 3 in Electronic Media Production.

“We are also hoping for these programmes to be awarded by our own institution, rather than by outside institutions, for approval at the Brunei Darussalam National Accreditation Council,” said KIGS CEO Dr Haji Azaharaini bin Haji Mohd Jamil.

The main feature of KIGS’ Open Day is the 7th Identity Arts and Design Exhibition organised by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, which seeks to promote the creative industry as a source of individual income to enhance the tourism industry.
