Members of the Rotary Club of Belait on Sunday visited Seria Old Folks Home, leaving residents in a joyous mood.

In celebration of the World Understanding and Peace Day 2020 and the International Women’s Day, the outing also coincided with the club’s 115th anniversary.

Among the members present were President Patrick Lai, Vice President Loo Soon Nin, President Elect Henrietta Hiew, Secretary Camille Chai and Service Project Chairwoman Helen Tang.

To ensure a memorable day for the elderly, the club also invited the women’s section of the Foochow Association, Sally’s Line Dance Kuala Belait, OM Yoga Zone and NEM Fitness to facilitate various fun activities, which included a yoga session and a dance class. The day concluded with lunch.

Among the aims of the visit was to provide the visiting members an opportunity to show their love and appreciation for the older members of the society through close interaction and health-oriented activities.

Lai, on behalf of the Rotary Club of Belait, expressed his gratitude to Buccaneer Restaurant, the Foochow Association, Sally’s Line Dance Kuala Belait, OM Yoga Zone and NEM Fitness for their support and participation.

He also shared that the club will continue to organise community-based events in the future, and called for generosity, support and assistance of interest groups to make these projects possible.
