imagine Sdn Bhd yesterday launched its Wish Pre-Paid service by making a contribution to youth volunteers under the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) as part of the company’s efforts in supporting the government’s fight against the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
The pre-paid SIM cards, preloaded with features that allow for seamless connectivity between volunteers in the field, were presented by imagine Vice President of Marketing Dona Johan to committee members of the volunteer unit at Pusat Bahagia.
While the 50 SIM cards handed over yesterday were exclusive for the volunteers, a further 250 have been earmarked for other government agencies and non-government organisations (NGOs) that are playing pivotal roles in the COVID-19 operations.
Part of the sponsorship will also include several mobile phones for the Ministry of Health (MoH) by imagine staff, many of whom have made contributions either through voluntary work or donations. imagine Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Suzanna Suharju said, “We understand that a significant investment will be required to finance these operations, which includes ensuring that agencies are able to communicate with one another with ease.
“Over the past few weeks, the telecommunications industry, including imagine, has worked closely with the government to provide broadband and landline connectivity to support the COVID-19 operations.”
The CEO added that imagine has taken the opportunity of their pre-paid readiness to give back to the community by supporting hundreds of men and women who have shown bravery in facing the outbreak.
To promote the government’s social distancing measure, the company’s Wish Pre-Paid SIM cards have been made available for purchase at its eStore at imagine.com.bn, inclusive of free number porting and home delivery, though these cards can also be purchased at any of its branches throughout the country.
