Speaker of the Legislative Council Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib urged Legislative Council members to give a different approach in giving views and thoughts and not to raise the same issues highlighted in previous years.
Speaking at the start of the second day of the 16th Legislative Council session where members expressed their motion of thanks to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam for the titah on Monday, the Speaker also called on the Legislative Council members to be empowered and strong in discussing national issues.
The Speaker also reiterated His Majesty’s titah to be prudent and focus on more efficient expenses that enhance the nation’s economy and productivity to uphold the well-being of the people through the whole of nation approach for all efforts and initiatives bear fruition as aspired.
“We must be thankful to His Majesty who cares about the well-being of the people by emphasising Doa or supplication. I hope Legislative Council members inject effective stimulus in their deliberation,” he said.
