Continue with the journey, students told

Sengkurong Sixth Form Centre organised an Academic Award 2020 for outstanding students who successfully achieved their BC-GCE ‘A’ Level examination 2019 at the centre’s hall yesterday.

Guest of honour, Senior Special Duties Officer, Department of Schools, Ministry of Education Abdullah bin Ismail presented the awards and certificates.

Principal of Sengkurong Sixth Form Centre Haji Metusin bin Haji Jair congratulated the students on their achievements and advised them to continue with their efforts, as it was a starting point for the next journey.

He congratulated the centre’s lecturers and departments who received awards for their improvement and achievements in educating the students, and urged them to further gain knowledge which can be shared among the students.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of a verse from Al-Quran by Muhammad Syafiq bin Muhammad Suhardie. The translation was read by Mohammad Hafizuddin Hidayatullah bin Iskandar Zulkarnain, followed by the awards presentation to the lecturers and representatives of departments.

The event also saw the award presentation in five categories – Outstanding Student Awards in BC-GCE ‘A’ Level 2019, Outstanding Student Awards based on Subject, Committed Student Awards, Overall Outstanding Student Awards and Exemplary Student Award.

The ceremony was enlivened with choral reading performance on The Girl with a Mind of Math: The Story of Raye Montague by the English Literature students 2020.
