Cashless transactions have been put into effect since February 17 at the service counters of the Land Transport Department (JPD) Headquarters in Gadong.
The move is aimed at providing relief for members of the public in making payments, especially with large amounts of cash; encouraging cashless payment; and improving the quality of JPD services through the use of digital facilities in accordance with Information Communication Technology (ICT) development.
The public now has the option of using credit or debit cards at the counters for Vehicle and Driving Licence Renewal, Ownership Exchange and Number Registration/Vehicle Identification.
The facilities for cashless transactions will be made available at JPD branches in every district, in the near future. JPD requested for public cooperation and support amid its ongoing efforts to improve customer service.
