Over 60 people from the Kedayan community participated in a mini Borneo Traditional Paddy Harvesting event in Wasan last Sunday.
Participants were from Sabah, Sarawak, Labuan and Brunei. Several youth also participated.
The programme was organised by the Melayu Kedayan Association (Pemedayan) as part of its efforts to promote Kedayan traditional culture.
A Pemedayan spokesperson said the event will be held again next year with additional activities including the traditional method of paddy pounding. TEXT & PHOTO: JAMES KON & PEMEDAYAN
