TAP conducts roadshow for newly registered employers

Employees Trust Fund (TAP), through TAP Enforcement Unit continued its series of roadshow to the newly registered employers at the Theatre Hall, Ministry of Finance and Economy Building, Commonwealth Drive, Bandar Seri Begawan.

The roadshow was part of TAP’s efforts to inform employers on their responsibilities in managing employees who are eligible to be registered under TAP and SCP schemes.

The roadshow highlighted the employer’s responsibilities to register and to make TAP and SCP contributions for their employees. It is mandatory for employees who are citizens and permanent residents of Brunei Darussalam to be registered and contribute to the TAP and SCP schemes.

This includes part-time employees, contract employees, daily-paid employees and employees on probation.

Under Section 26 of the Employee Trust Act (Chapter 167), if found guilty, an employer will be fined not more than USD3,000 for the first offence and not more than USD10,000 for second and subsequent offences.

The session continued with the sharing session on the application of TAP’s online service, e-Amanah. For every new company registration via the Registry of Companies and Business Name (ROCBN), the company will be automatically registered to e-Amanah.

Employers were also briefied on using the e-Amanah including how to login to the web portal, registering eligible employees, updating the employees and company information, making online payments for the TAP and SCP contributions and obtaining the monthly contribution payment status during the session.

Through e-Amanah, employers do not have to visit any TAP counters. The full use of this online service is in line with TAP’s efforts to provide an efficient, effective and convenient service to employers.
