SMSA welcomes 24th cohort

Sayyidina Ali Secondary School (SMSA) conducted their Pre-U1 Orientation Day for 2020/2021 intake at the school’s multi-purpose hall on Tuesday.

Some 143 Lower Sixth students from the Belait District attended the orientation with their parents and guardians.

Principal Steven Shim Sheau Huei, Parent-Teacher Association Chairman Nordin bin Haji Zainal, executive committee members, as well as staff members welcomed the students.

The principal extended his congratulations to students in his speech.

“This is not a journey for the faint-hearted. Many gave up, but more found it rewarding. If you believe in your choice, I will congratulate you and your decision to go through the journey with us, because we never doubt ourselves,” he said.

The principal introduced the staff members and teachers to the students, parents and guardians.

The new intake as well as their parents and guardians attended several briefings on HEP and discipline, Student Welfare and CCA delivered by Senior Head of Student Affairs (Pre-U) Erna Sumarne binti Haji Sumardi, Student Welfare Officer (Pre-U) Abdullah bin Ismail and Senior Master CCA (Pre-U) Khairul Salleh bin Haji Bolhassan.

The students took the school’s oath during the ceremony and toured the school’s facilities.
