Religious event marks Prisons Department’s 66th anniversary

In conjunction with the Prisons Department’s 66th anniversary held every March 1, a religious ceremony was organised by the department at the Royal Mausoleum in the capital recently.

A Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil recitation was held for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman, the late parents of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

Present during the ceremony were Permanent Secretary (Safety, Welfare and Law) at the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) Mohd Amir Hairil bin Haji Mahmud and Acting Director of Prisons Department Haji Muhammad Isamuddin bin Abdullah Juna.

It began with the recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil led by Religious Teacher of Maraburong Prison Institution Phase 3 Azmi bin Haji Tapau and Warder 536 Haji Mohd Amin bin Haji Mohammad.
