Pledge to take CHMS BSB to greater heights

Legislative Council (LegCo) member Yang Berhormat Ong Tiong Oh has pledged to take Chung Hwa Middle School Bandar Seri Begawan (CHMS BSB) to greater heights, following his re-election as Chairman of CHMS BSB’s Board of Directors.

The school held an installation ceremony for the new Board of Directors for 2020-2022 yesterday, which was witnessed by Acting Director General of Education at the Ministry of Education (MoE) Hajah Anis Faudzulani binti Haji Dzulkiflee.

Yang Berhormat Ong Tiong Oh said, “I feel honoured and blessed, because the new Board of Directors comprised individuals with various backgrounds and skills, besides possessing high commitment. I am confident that with the close cooperation of the members of the Board of Directors, principal and teachers, this school will continue to play a vital role as an educational institution that is capable of producing more youth with knowledge and moral integrity.

“As a non-profit educational institution, the school has always depended on donations from the public. Therefore, the cooperation and commitment from all members of the Board of Directors is needed, in order to secure the much-needed financial contributions, especially for the financial funding to assist underprivileged students. “With the close cooperation and involvement of all parties, the school will be able to provide significant contribution towards the development in the field of education and towards achieving Brunei Vision 2035.”

Lim Boon Hwa was elected as Deputy Chairman, while Lim Ming Kiat, Lim Ting Chai, Dr Muhammad Firdaus bin Abdul Rahman @ Dr Tan Kah Hock, Yong Teck Chin and Lim Tiong Han @ Lim Peh Beng were chosen as Vice Chairmen.

The post of Secretary went to Kueh Ngee Wei, Treasurer to Chong Fu Li, School Supervisor to Dr Yong Chee Tuan, General Manager to Tan San Hock and General Relations Officer to Tan Chin Wan.
