Minister praises Belait District Youth Association

The Belait District Youth Association (PEMBELA) conducted the PEMBELA Appreciation Ceremony 2020 at the Lecture Theatre and the surrounding premises of the Learning Development Centre at the Suri Seri Begawan Hospital, Kuala Belait yesterday.

Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin and spouse were the guests of honour.

They were welcomed by President of PEMBELA Atikah Rumaizah binti Dr Haji Harun.

Permanent secretaries and deputy permanent secretaries at the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports; Belait District Officer Ramlee bin Haji Jamudin and spouse; and members of the association were present.

President of PEMBELA spoke about the overview of the association and its vision and mission.

The minister praised the association for its determination and engagement.

The event proceeded with the presentation of appreciation awards to PEMBELA members.

The Belia Setia award went to Muhd Faridzul Hazri bin Muhd Ibrahim; Ali Ruwaidi bin Dr Haji Awang Harun received the Belia Bakti award; Nur Nazurah binti Abu Hanifah, the Belia Cermerlang award; and Muhd Dzakwan bin Muhd Ibrahim, the Pemimpin Belia award.

Several awards were also presented to those who showed promise in their talents and abilities. These included the Cermerlang award, which went to Nur Judy binti Abdullah, Haji Yusop bin Haji Munir, and Hajah Norani binti Ali, Pengiran Haji Metussin bin Pengiran Haji Salleh, and Hajah Hasnah binti Taha; as well as the Cermerlang dan Gemilang award, which went to Dr Haji Mohd Hatta bin Haji Zainal Abidin, Haji Ali bin Abang, Haji Zaini bin Hussein, and Haji Ismail bin Kassim.

Meanwhile, Pengiran Haji Sulaiman bin Pengiran Haji Sidek, and Dr Haji Malai Abdul Hamid bin Haji Malai Mashor received the Cermelang, Gemilang dan Terbilang award.

Several performances were held to enliven the event.

The minister, guests and attendees also toured the booths showcasing the efforts and initiatives by the members.
