Over 25 Mercedes-Benz vehicles ranging from old to new models took part in a ride in conjunction with Brunei Darussalam’s 36th National Day yesterday.

Organised by Benzer Club, the event was held for the first time. Mercedes-Benz owners gathered at the Pusing Lagi parking area in Jerudong as early as 7.30am.

Acting Village Head of Kampong Jerudong B Kamis bin Panjang officiated the flag off. The event commenced with the recitation of Doa, followed by a briefing by the President of Benzer Club Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Daud, and a safety briefing by a representative from Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF).

The journey began at the Pusing Lagi parking area in Jerudong and continued to Sengkurong, Pengkalan Batu, Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Bridge, Brunei Museum and Kampong Kapok before ending at Serasa Beach.

“The event is part of the club’s activity to strengthen ties among members, and at the same time, to instil a sense of patriotism and love towards the country,” said Abdul Aziz.
