Brunei Basketball Association (BBA) in collaboration with the Belait District Basketball Association and Tutong Basketball will host the second 5.11 National Basketball League which will tip off on March 8.
According to a BBA statement, this year’s National Basketball League will feature both men’s and women’s categories.
Six teams will compete in the men’s category namely Brunei-Muara ‘A’, Brunei-Muara ‘B’, Temburong, Tutong, Belait and Seria. Four teams will compete in the women’s category – Brunei-Muara, Temburong, Tutong and Belait.
All games will be played at the BBA Basketball Court in Batu Besurat.
Deputy President of BBA Lim Boon Teck said, “In view of the ongoing concern for the coronavirus and resource constraints, we reluctantly have to reduce the number of games and suspend the ‘home and away’ format which was a key feature of the national league last year.”
“The National Basketball League is an important platform that provides exposure for our women and youth basketball players. Players from the league may be selected to represent Brunei in the upcoming Borneo Intercity tournament in June,” Lim added.
