28 individuals, two companies fined for littering

Twenty-eight individuals were recently issued BND100 compound fines for disposing trash and cigarette butts in the areas of Bandar Seri Begawan, Gadong, Kiulap, Kiarong, Tungku Link, Serusop and Beribi, in violation of the Minor Offences Act, Section 12(1)(a) and (b) Chapter 30.

The fines were issued by personnel from the Law Enforcement Unit of the Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Department.

The 28 individuals are Sugiyanto Ngatijo, Mounjir Ahammod, Sakar Md Tara Miah, Nunu Miah, Shohel Mia, Hossain Aktar, Majedul Mannan, Zia, Khokon Mia, Sohel and Amadul Haki from Bangladesh; Yong Say Soon from Malaysia, Suyitno, Soegeng Priyono, Robi Irawan, Irfan Khoibul Hidayat, Wagirun, Saifudin, Samsul Anang, Maulana Ahsan Shiddiq, Fahrega, Mohammad Hazip, Fahmi, Arif Budi Prasetyo, Adi Kurniawan and Wahyu Tri Prasetyo from Indonesia; as well as Mahmud Elmi bin Ali Rahman and Dayangku Adibatulnabahah binti Pengiran Haji Murah from Brunei Darussalam.

Meanwhile, two companies – Kleen Tech Marketing Services and Rajiya Interior & Construction Sdn Bhd – were issued BND200 compound fines for similar offences.

Members of the public and business premises are reminded not to dispose rubbish in public areas.
