Acting Director of Language and Literature Bureau Hajah Sariani binti Haji Ishak said, “The workshop aims to enhance lexicography skills of DBP staff and to provide them a platform to discuss issues on structure of Brunei Malay Language.

“The knowledge gained can also be used to publish other dictionaries that are beneficial to the people of Brunei Darussalam.

In addition to the dictionary, “DBP through Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) also published online Dictionary on Brunei Language,” she added.

“We hope to propel Brunei Language to the international scene and promote Brunei Darussalam as a country with its own identity and unique language.”
