Towards achieving a higher quality of business education, the Universiti Brunei Darussalam School of Business and Economics (UBDSBE) through the UBDSBE Student Council organised a roadshow to raise awareness on obtaining accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) held recently.

AACSB is a well-established international accreditation body that connects business schools, students and businesses, with a mission to foster engagement, accelerate innovation and amplify impact in business education.

To date, AACSB has provided quality assurance, business education intelligence and professional development services to over 1,700 member organisations and more than 840 accredited business schools worldwide.

With the mission of ‘Providing quality education and nurturing innovative and caring leaders to contribute to the community’, UBDSBE has been a member of AACSB Business Education Alliance since 2014 and is currently in the process of achieving AACSB Business Accreditation.

By becoming an accredited member of AACSB, UBDSBE will be part of a movement that collectively aspires to improve the quality of business education around the world.

To date, among other improvements, UBDSBE has enhanced its Assurance of Learning process in line with AACSB Standards to ensure UBDSBE students graduating from the business school have the desired skill sets and competencies for the workplace.

The school also engages with businesses, government agencies and alumni to improve their curriculum, and foster linkages with businesses and other external stakeholders to provide real-world experiential learning opportunities to students.

The three-day roadshow from January 13-15 organised by the UBDSBE Student Council aimed at raising awareness among students on AACSB and the value of pursuing accreditation.
