Tabuan demonstrated their attacking might in the NFABD Under-16 Youth League after an emphatic 11-0 victory with hapless Setia Perdana falling prey at the NFABD Football Field yesterday.
The national youth development side remain on course for a third under-16 title after registering their 14th win over the season, with a game in hand in second place in the table.
Tabuan striker Md Syaherrul Affendy bin Md Syahmirul Nizam starred in the rout after he bagged five goals while Luqman Nul-Hakeem bin Hismawadi contributed to the scoring spree with four goals.
The club’s frontman Md Syaherrul Affendy opened the floodgates after scoring twice in the opening 10 minutes. Luqman Nul-Hakeem made it 3-0 in the 14th minute before doubling his tally just three minutes later.
Md Syaherrul Affendy completed his hat-trick in the 28th minute while Luqman Nul-Hakeem joined his team-mate’s footsteps a minute later with a treble of his own.
There was no end to Setia Perdana’s nightmare as Ahmad Danish Hakim bin Azami added his name in the score-sheet in the 30th minute.
Md Syaherrul grabbed his fourth of the game before Awangku Md Idzzaham Alwshahmezan bin Pengiran Metali joined in the act in the 35th minute.
With time on Tabuan side to make it a double-digit score-line, Md Syaherrul inflicted further damage in the 42nd minute before Luqman compounded Setia Perdana’s misery in the 53rd minute.
Elsewhere at the Tutong Sports Complex, league leaders DPMM FC maintained top spot after a hard-fought 2-0 win against Bang Dalam FC.
Mohd Nazry Aiman bin Azaman opened the scoring in the 29th minute before Awangku Mohd Syafiq Hilmi bin Pengiran Md Shahrom extended his side’s lead in the 45th minute.
DPMM FC stay top of the pile in the NFABD Under-16 Youth League table with 44 points while Tabuan, who played a game less, are currently a point behind. Meanwhile, NFABD Competition Department has announced that the league match between FC Phosphor and title-chasing Tabuan has been moved to the NFABD Football Field at 9.15am tomorrow.
The match was originally scheduled to take place at the Sungai Kebun Sports Complex but the field has been temporarily closed for renovations.
