There was no casualties in the fire but a man, Ng Teong Chuan, 60, suffered burns on his right shoulder while trying to save his motorcycle.

Taiping Fire and Rescue Station Operations head, Rafeel Hairul Richard said they received a call at 3.55am before a team from the Taiping and Kamunting Fire and Rescue Stations were deployed to the scene.

“The houses were 80 per cent destroyed and firefighters contained the fire from spreading to the other houses nearby within 15 minutes. The fire was completely brought under control by 5.35am,” he said.
