Schools welcome new Year 7 students

More than 200 new Year 7 students enrolled into Sultan Sharif Ali Secondary School (SMSSA) this year. A three-day orientation is being held at the school’s multipurpose hall.

The orientation began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and a speech by SMSSA Principal Mohd Danny bin Aimi on Monday.

The first day saw briefings from different departments and Takaful Brunei Am. This was followed by a tour of the school and an ice-breaking activity.

The orientation continued yesterday with briefings and team-building exercises. The students went to their classes to sort out their textbooks, classroom organization and timetable.

Meanwhile, Sayyidina Hasan Secondary School (SMSH) welcomed 197 new students during registration and orientation on Monday. The three-day event for Year 7 students is held at the school’s multipurpose hall.

SMSH Principal Haryani binti Haji Mohammad, Deputy Principal (Administration) Haji Mohd Ali bin Haji Zainal, Deputy Principal (Academic) Norazrina binti Haji Sarbini, Operations Manager Haji Mohd Safwan bin Abdullah Teo, Chairman of the Parent-Teacher Association Haji Mat Yassin bin Haji Apong were present.
