A vocational training and internship programme funded and managed by An-Nur Harapan, UnikLearn trainees are assessed and trained in basic living skills, home skills, community participation skills, social skills, independent living skills and vocational skills. They are also exposed to the workplace environment, maintenance through observation and final transition to gainful employment. The transition to workplace segment includes having the trainees undergo placement for a minimum of three to six months at suitable and willing organisations in the country, in line with the trainees’ capabilities and interests.

UnikLearn programme started in 2018 with five trainees who underwent their internships and were subsequently employed at several companies in the country.

The success of the pilot UnikLearn 2018 and donations from various sponsors and collaborators have enabled An-Nur Harapan to continue on with the UnikLearn programme for 2019 with seven youth with different abilities who underwent the session from last March to January.

This batch of trainees underwent their internship at several organisations such as Royal Brunei Catering, Mulia Hotel, Eco Bumi Arkitek, Poni Divers and AMD United Transportation. A number of the trainees will continue their internship or have gone on to gainful employment.
