The Gambling Supression and Anti-Vice Unit of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) detained nine suspects in a raid at a residence in Kampong Perpindahan Lambak Kanan recently.
The RBPF apprehended six locals, two permanent residents and one Indonesian during the 1am raid.
An open space located at the back of the house covered in canvas was used as the gambling spot.
The RBPF also seized gambling items and money used for gambling activities. The suspects and the seized items were brought to the Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
The case is being investigated under Section 6 (1) of the Common Gambling Houses Act, Chapter 28.
Senior Investigation Officer of the Women and Child Abuse Investigation Unit Acting Deputy Superintendent of Police Norkhatijah binti Haji Zainal shared the details of the raid.
The RBPF will continue to observe and trace any criminal activities in the country.
