New UBD students introduced to PMUBD, clubs

Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) Freshers’ Week programme continued yesterday where the new students were introduced to the services provided by the university and briefed on the extracurricular activities available. The programme aimed to help the students transition from secondary school to university learning systems. The event was held at UBD Chancellor Hall.

President of UBD Student Representative Council Muhammad Alaf bin Haji Redawan said in addition to introducing the students to the UBD Students Association (PMUBD), they were also introduced to student representatives and PMUBD’s services.

Currently, more than 40 clubs have been established under the PMUBD.

In the afternoon, the opening ceremony of the PMUBD Showcase was held to introduce and promote the clubs at UBD. The event also saw the launch of PMUBD website.

The guest of honour UBD Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Research) Dr Abby Tan Chee Hong launched the website.

The new PMUBD website can help students and the public to learn about the latest developments, activities and services offered by the student association.
