Hiking activities continue to be popular with members of the public as they increasingly visit recreational parks across the country.

These parks are ideal for families to participate in physical activities as they provide a fun way to improve health and fitness.

Hiking enthusiasts are in for a treat with the official opening of a popular hiking trail at Bukit Sipatir, Kampong Subok in Mukim Kota Batu.

The Bukit Sipatir Recreational Park was officially launched by Permanent Secretary (Administration, Finance and Estate) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Pengiran Mohd Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud yesterday.

A number of hiking enthusiasts gathered at the entrance of Bukit Sipatir for an aerobics session and warm-up exercises before entering the trail.

The guest of honour then led participants to the top of the hill to reveal the new signage for the park, followed by a tree planting to commemorate the occasion.

The opening of Bukit Sipatir Recreational Park is also significant for Kampong Subok residents. It was first discovered in November 2018 and has since attracted some 2,800 visitors.

Member of the Legislative Council and Penghulu of Mukim Kota Batu Yang Berhormat Naim bin Haji Kamis and Brunei-Muara District Officer Misle bin Haji Abdul Karim were also present at the ceremony.
