Malaysian High Commission in Brunei hosts Tahlil

The Malaysian High Commission in Brunei Darussalam yesterday organised a Tahlil ceremony for the late Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Ismail bin Haji Salam.

The religious ceremony at the Malaysian High Commissioner’s official residence in Jalan Kebangsaan was attended by Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, and Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful

Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin. The Tahlil ceremony commenced following mass Zohor prayer.

Ismail bin Haji Salam began his career as an Administration and Diplomatic Officer in 1992, and was appointed Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam in February 2019.

He passed away on December 18, 2019 and was buried at the Kampong Matang Cemetery in his home town of Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.
