KB Warriors, AI Idrus FT off to a firing start

KB Warriors fought well against AH United at the opening game of the Football League Championship and FA Cup with the final score of 4-1.

Four of KB Warriors’ goals were scored by player Haji Affendi bin Haji Julaihi who first scored for his team at the 39th minute.

Haji Affendi was all fired as his second goal came in at the 47th minute and got his hat-trick goal two minutes later before finishing with his fourth goal at 65th minutes.

AH United’s Pengiran Omarali bin Pengiran Haji Othman netted the consolation goal at the 78th minute for his team.

Meanwhile, in another game at the Track and Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas, team Al Idrus FT beat RB Veteran 1-5 and scored as early as in the ninth minute of the first half of the game.

Their win was contributed by former national players in the team with Al Idrus player Ishak bin Ibrahim scoring a hat-trick.

Ishak goal netted just a minute after the first goal by teammate Haji Norazme bin Pehin Dato Haji Abdul Razak at the 10th minute and another two came in at the 59th and 79th minute while another former national player Azmanuddin bin Haji Gillen scored his goal at the 25th minute.

RB Veteran’s only goal came from Pengiran Mohd Ali bin Pengiran Haji Zaidi at the 39th minute.

Curtains for the championships organised for players aged 50 years and above by Al Idrus Sports Club were drawn last Saturday evening at the Jerudong Mini Stadium with the first game kicking off between these four teams.

Organised to keep veteran players fit and in good shape regardless of age, the tournament themed ‘Football for Health’ also aimed to produce more veteran players practicing a healthy lifestyle.

The final is scheduled to be held in April.
