The Magistrate’s Court remitted a robbery case to be heard in the High Court and has been fixed for mention on February 10.
DPP Hajah ‘Adzimah Mukarramah binti Haji Salleh’s case alleges 39-year-old Sahrol Azren bin Roslee of committing an armed robbery against a 71-year-old man, by wielding a knife to steal a sling bag from the victim, at a commercial building in Kampong Sungai Liang at 8am on January 15.
The defendant is also alleged to have trespassed into a house at STKRJ Lorong 3 Selatan, Seria on January 15 at midnight with intentions to annoy its occupant, a 62-year-old man. The armed robbery charge carries a penalty of up to 30 years’ jail with 12 whippings, while the charge of trespass with the intention to annoy carries up to three-years’ imprisonment and fine.
Magistrate Muhammad Marzuqi bin Sabtu presided over the case on January 27.
