The Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in RPN Kampong Mentiri continues to play a role in encouraging the congregants to come closer to reading the Al-Quran as well as to appreciate and follow the teachings it contains.

This was stated by Head of Imam of Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque Haji Shamsul bin Haji Abdul Latif at this year’s first Khatam Al-Quran of the mosque.

“We are delighted to have the involvement of congregants in this village and from the surrounding areas who participate in the daily rituals after the Isyak and Subuh prayers,” he said.

He said the mosque is also active in organising Al-Quran classes for adults and increasing the reading of the Holy Quran every Tuesday and Wednesday night.

Participants of the Tedarus group called Iqraul Quran of the mosque are growing and enlivening the mosque.

“We are proud that some of the participants in this group are those who started from the Muqadam class and proceeded to the Quran stage,” said Haji Shamsul.

Over 30 members of the Iqraul Quran group of Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Mentiri attended the Khatam ceremony.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al Fatihah and followed by recitation of Al-Quran verses led by Abdul Rahim bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohd Tamin.
