The Information Department through its Nationhood Unit of the Nationhood and Community Division held a nationhood briefing on ‘Our King, Appreciating Our National Flag and National Anthem’ at the school Auditorium of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Secondary School yesterday.
Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Abdul Hafeez bin Pengiran Anak Khairul Khalil, the grandson of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, attended the talk. Also present were the teaching staff and 84 Year 7 students.
The programme aimed to continue the efforts of the Information Department in nurturing affection for His Majesty, religion, nation and country in addition to strengthening solidarity, patriotism and nationhood among students through the national anthem and national flag.
The talk was delivered by Assistant Information Officer Hajah Noorhijrah binti Haji Idris.
The briefing covered topics on the monarch, etiquette on hoisting the national flag and the historical background on the Brunei Darussalam national anthem, Allah Peliharakan Sultan.
The programme also featured a video clip presentation on the national flag, Kibarkanlah Dengan Megah Bendera Negara, Semarak Pengibaran Bendera Negara and animation on the etiquette on hoisting the national flag, Tatacara Menaikkan Bendera Negara as well as a quiz session organised by the Information Department.
The briefing concluded with a prize presentation for students who succeeded in answering the quiz.
A similar briefing was also held at Pengiran Isteri Hajjah Mariam Secondary School in Serasa for 96 Year 7 students along with the teaching staff. The briefing was delivered by Information Officer Mohammad Hisyam bin Idris in his capacity as the Head of the Nationhood Unit of the Nationhood and Community Division.
Meanwhile, 156 Year 9 and Year 10 students of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Secondary School also attended the Information Youth Partnership Programme (RRP) at the school’s lecture room yesterday.
The grandchildren of His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Pengiran Anak ‘Abdul Muta’ali Haziq Hamidullah bin Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul ‘Ali Yil-Kabier, Pengiran Nur Aabidah Syifa binti Pengiran Anak Haji Mohammed Al-Mokhtar, and Hajah Aasiyah Rabiatu Masna binti Yusrin – attended the programme.
The briefing was delivered by Assistant Information Officer Mohammad Hisyam bin Idris in his capacity as the Head of the Nationhood Unit.
Also present was the Student Affairs Senior Education Officer Pengiran Seban binti Pengiran Haji Momin.
The programme is one of the continuous efforts by the Information Department in instilling a sense of love towards the ruler, religion, race and country, as well as to strengthen in high solidarity, patriotism and nationalism within students through that love for the ruler, national flag and national anthem.
