The Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Brunei Darussalam will, from February 1-8, organise an exhibition displaying underwater photos taken by Cecilia Lee, a certified commercial diver since 1991. Lee holds certificates for advanced open water dive and drift dive, among others, issued by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI).
The event will exhibit photos taken in the Indian Ocean and Asia-Pacific seas. During the exhibition, Lee will organise talks about diving and share her rich experiences.
The event will be organised in parallel with awareness increasing activities on marine and environmental pollution.
In this framework, several Brunei non-governmental organisations (NGOs) will host educational sessions.
On another but closely related topic, Isabel Lopes, a vegan and Macrobiotic cook and health coach will hold two sessions of talk on ‘Macrobiotic Eating for Health and Sustainable Environment,’ explaining how changes in individuals’ lifestyle can have a positive impact on the environment.
Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is expected to attend as the guest of honour at the February 1 opening ceremony at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Brunei Darussalam.
The exhibition will be open to the public from February 2-8 at the embassy’s chancery at No 27, Simpang 52, Kampong Manggis Satu.
