The trials and blessings of illness were the subject of yesterday’s pre-dawn talk at the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital.
The religious discourse was delivered by Muhammad Faidzal bin Haji Wahab, Assistant Registrar of Syariah Subordinate Court under the State Judiciary Department of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), who said that all humans will be questioned in the hereafter concerning their health and whether they used it to good purpose or otherwise.
“We are encouraged to visit the sick and see for ourselves the afflictions they are undergoing, as only the sick will know how precious health is,” he said.
“Therefore, we should cherish the gift of health and make the most of it, as all of us will suffer from health issues, whether slight or severe.”
Chief Syar’ie Judge Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar and Syariah Court of Appeals Judge Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Setia Raja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Suhaili bin Haji Mohiddin also attended.
Also present were Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof, Judge at the Syariah Subordinate Courts Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, and Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the MoRA Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang.
The pre-dawn talk was jointly organised by the MoRA and PMO as part of the weekly Masjidku Makmur, Negaraku Berkat programme, to encourage the presence of more worshippers for the mass Subuh prayers at the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque.
