WeCare in collaboration with Qbeats of Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) and supported by Matters of Choice (MoC), conducted a charity movie night In Their Shoes on Thursday night, in conjunction with Syrian Warm Winter 2.0 project.
In Their Shoes showcased a movie and several videos to better understand the condition of living in a refugee camp affecting Syrian refugees especially during the harsh winter season.
Footages of the refugee camps and an exclusive sharing by WeCare representative for Lebanon were also shown.
WeCare is targetting BND200,000 to assist 40,000 Syrian refugees. Public contribution to the project was opened on November 6, 2019 and will be closed on January 31.
Donation can be made through BIBD Mobile application – Bill Payment, Progresif pay or Cash Deposit Machine.
The contributions will be used to purchase items needed by the Syrian refugees in Turkey this winter such as fuel, winter kit and food.
The event aimed to give the public an insight on the burden and challenges faced by refugees and to raise awareness on the ongoing conflict affecting Syria.
